Hitchhiking was real way of travelling slowly and gradually this way of travel was changed as human started taming animal and using them for travel and when human developed wheel, they added wheel with carriage and travelling was even easier thereafter. 

Lets take any mode of travel and ask yourself why do you travel??
we all will get some or the other reasons but whats the actual reason so to find a reasons lets see

what made human travelling? human in early stage travelled for food, water, then for medical reasons now all these needs are full filled at home 

then why human will travel? human started travelling for job work employment for money and we can see this is exactly how human have travelled far across

Here are few Trick that can help you to go for hitch hiking 

1. Have Vision that creates reasons 
2. See What all You can do what is the need of humanity 
3. Hitchhiking in India IS possible. Be self-confident and never give up, even if everybody tells you that it's impossible. 
4. "lift" is freest way First of all, it's not possible to catch a ride inside of the city because of thousands of rickshaws, motor rickshaws, cabs and other vehicles. The suburbs are endless and hardly walk able. The only way to get out of the city is by bus or train. however still you can ask for "lift" in suburbs 
5. Don't Explain NOBODY actually knows what Hitchhiking is. The best answer is: "I'm walking"
6. If You Ever Get Ride/lift then talk about what you do and why are you travelling this will create good conversation and for you to keep up with your travel
7. Be prepared for being picked up by trucks and motorbikes. don't expect cars they are rare to stop for hitchhikers. 
8. Truck drivers don't speak English, and sometimes they do not speak Hindi.
9. It's a good idea to stay overnight in temples. They are very clean and monks won't disturb your rest."
10. Go To Rular areas where they need teachers, since we are educated we can educate others too Illiteracy level is quite high in some parts of india
