Don't Forget Our Kisan Brothers-Jai Jawan Jai Kisan

Hum Traveller "Where life mean travel"
Welcome to Hum Traveller.

This is what we all are doing now after understanding that we need to feed & protect ourselves so we have to grow our food and protect ourselves since we all are busy in earning  the direct burden is taken by our “Kisan” & “Jawan” Brothers. I feel that Government being partial by not rewarding and recognizing farmers our “Kisan” brothers. They don’t get any award from central government, or state government I have came across by one institute that is “Samriddhi By Mahindra” by giving Kisan No.1 Mahindra Samriddhi Sanman
Each season before the sowing of crop, Mahindra Samriddhi Samman is announced at all the Samriddhi Centres, and distributed once in a year at the end of both the seasons.
The Kisan No. 1 - Mahindra Samriddhi Samman is organized at all Samriddhi Centres across India.
The Samman is to congratulate farmer and his family who improved productivity over the last year by deploying Innovative Farming Technologies disseminated by Samriddhi Center.

  • Mahindra Samriddhi Samman awards are as follows:1st prize for highest increase in productivity: Rs.15000 Cash + Trophy + Certificate of Appreciation.
  • 2nd prize for highest increase in productivity: Trophy + Certificate of Appreciation.
  • 3rd prize for highest increase in yield: Trophy + Certificate of Appreciation.
  • 4th prize for highest reduction in cost of cultivation: Trophy + Certificate of Appreciation.
  • Consolation Prizes: Certificate of Participation.

The success stories showcased at the Kisan No. 1 - Mahindra Samriddhi Samman is a clear validation of the work that Mahindra Samriddhi centers are doing along with, and for the local farmers.

However apart from this there is nothing more than this given to our “Kisan” brothers except they have to struggle due to heavy industrialisation flood because of water clogging etc etc..

I am not sure how to conclude this I am not saying that don’t give it to our “Jawan” brothers what I am saying is don’t forget our “Kisan” brothers. They can get you best ingredient of the earth for your delicious and healty food which is why we all are working isn’t Food is the most basic need of human and the one who grow is not even been consider
In 1960 Lal Bhadur Sashtri gave slogan of the millennium “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”  in one of the interview from Mr. Manoj kumar aka Bharat Kumar of Bollywood told that our PM Lal Bhadur Sashtri asked Mr. Manoj kumar to make movie based on his slogan as our PM Lal Bhadur Sashtri like the his earlier film Shaheed after that I guess our brother don’t even have songs on them like we have for our Jawan Brothers .Celebrities meets our Jawan Brothers  however missed our Kisan Brother the celeb that I know who does something for our Kisan brother’s is Nana Patekar My sincere salute to Sir Nana Patekar and Our Bharat Kumar and Huge Respect to our Late PM. Lal Bhadur Sashtri who knew what needed to be done and you would be shocked to hear this revelation that Green Revolution 5 Year Plan  made India to achieve its target and which was started in 1960 and results can be seen in any history text book of Indian education institute
What need to be done to encourage more young farmer If we need Farmer in near future then we need to recognised them by organising Inter-city, inter-state champion ship for farmers
We need to get back to our roots before we get carried away by the storm

I do respect our Jawan Brothers but Don't Forget Our Kisan Brothers
Jai Jawan Jai Kisan

Stay safe and keep yourself healthy spread love around and keep travelling

These are the popular tourist attraction in SGNP

TREKS AND TRAILS
Shilonda Trail

This peaceful trail starts along the plains just before the Kaneri? Foothills and winds along gently into a good long hike heading northwards. Once the home of a tribal settlement that has now moved away, nature has completely reclaimed this territory. The trail reveals the gradual gradation in the vegetation: from scrubland at the beginning to dense, tall evergreen forest ahead. This route is met – at more than one point – by rapid forest streams and wading through this knee-deep crystal clear water is nothing less than therapeutic for the city-weary soul.

Malad Trail Line

This trail runs along the western edge of the park and is dotted with varied vegetation beginning with dry-deciduous (Teak, Red Silk Cotton, Palash, Laburnum tree, Bamboo thickets, to name a few) and gradually gives way to evergreen growth. Another gentle trail, this one ambles along to an artificial water hole where you might be able to witness signs of wildlife activity from the previous night. But walk along further, and you find yourself at the very edge of the forest in the suburb of Malad, where the conflict between forest and this ever-expanding city is strikingly apparent.

Kanheri/ Upper Trail

If you’re up for some Sunday morning legwork, this one is for you. This trail provides great opportunities for birding and exploring natural habitats as these evergreen forests are host to a rich diversity of life forms. Well-shaded for the most part, this hike takes you to a small opening along a rocky edge of the mountain, a bit like a balcony. The astounding view from here is a sight for sore eyes. Cross the gurgling waterfall along the way (watch your step on the moist, moss-covered rocks), and a short climb later, you’ll be at the top of Kanheri Caves. The view juxtaposes the crowded suburbs of Mumbai with the calm forests of SGNP.

Bamboo Hut Trail/ Gaumukh Trail

Among the most popular birding trails in the forest, this one is gentle but long. It leads you to the highest point in the park at 1,000 feet above sea level and to the well known Gaumukh point at the top of Kanheri Caves. Right at the base of the trail (means at the start?) is a serene and picturesque water hole, which the locals refer to as ‘Phansacha? Paani’ (what does it mean). This waterhole is a magnet for wildlife all through the year and if you avail of the requisite permissions from the forest department, you can sit in one of the two tall watchtowers overnight and experience some thrilling wildlife moments in the forest.

Highest Point Trail

At other times continue walking along the Bamboo Hut trail, cross streams, negotiate rocky hill slopes, and breathe in the beautiful forest vistas as you continue to quench your thirst for a nice invigorating trek. If you do manage to reach the highest point, then you have a surreal panorama of the 3 lakes viz. Tulsi, Vihar and Powai in front of you against the back drop of the city. Along the way you will pass through ‘Ashok Van’ – a dense groove of Sita-Ashok (Saraca indica) trees. Make sure you spend some time here in this well shaded and peaceful place. According to the legend of Ramayana, the demon Ravana had also held Sita in captivity in one such similar grooves. The highest point trek is indeed a trekkers delight and that too right within the financial capital of India.

Kashimira Trek

This interesting trek begins closer to the Lion Safari Gate inside SGNP  and proceeds further north of the forest. The trek route entices the trekker with the silence only this forest can offer amid the bustling city.

Nagla Block Trail

One of the most exhilarating trails lies along the Mumbai-Agra highway at Sasupada. Around 17 per cent of SGNP ’s land lies in the relatively pristine forestland beyond the Bassein/Bhayander creek and is a favourite among butterfly and bird watchers, and nature enthusiasts. A nature interpretation centre sits at the base of the gentle hilly walk. This trail reveals the confluence of mangrove and forest ecosystems in all their grandeur and this patch of forest harbours some of the most undisturbed and healthy growth of ecologically significant mangrove vegetation along the island of Mumbai.
In 2003, a tigress was found to have taken up residence in this area. No one had answers to where she had come from and where she eventually went. But that is the beauty of nature, it never ceases to surprise us. Hit the Naga Block Trail and make your own discoveries.

These National Park are today jungle and its protections is our duty as it is our property as a trekker there are few do's and don't from Sanjay Gandhi National Park Administration which I personally really liked.

  • Do not Feed Wild Animal: You will be fine Rs.25,000/- if you do so or 3 years of Imprisonment or both under wild life protection act 1972. IPC
  • Don't speed up you motor make much louder noise that wild animals if found charges are upto Rs.2000/-
  • Don't Make noise you will be annoying any lion tiger leopard
  • Don't loiter around whatever you will throw it will be consume by wild animals which could be dangerous for them

Vasai (Bassein)

Hum Traveller "Where life mean travel"

Welcome to Hum Traveller.
I have been to this place many a time even I have stayed in this city now today I am going again to this city Vasai (Bassein).
I am Travelling for my camper van which is in Vasai so I thought let’s get some information about Vasai.
Things That I never knew about Vasai.
Vasai named after its Vasa Tribe This Tribes Apparently had travelled to the north and after Vasa Rajasthan. No Trace of the tribes
Portugal’s king often name Bassein as Evora a city in Portugal where Evora means "Yew Tree"
Even Portugal’s  nicknamed the city as "Dom Baçaim (Bassein)" mocking the numerous "Dom (a Portugal’s  title for Sir)" people residing in the city of Bassein
The prosperity of Bassein increased such that it was considered among the richest cities among the Portugal’s colonies in the world at that time.
The dominion of the Portugal’s  in this part increased and the city became the capital of the Portugal’s  Province of the North of India; Goa being the capital of Portugal’s  Province of South.
Who Built Vasai Fort? I would say that Portugal’s  made that fort no infact the Bahadur_Shah_of_Gujarat was the one who started making his fort and when Portugal’s  Governor Da Cunha Got this information and he took advise form one of his council of Fidalgos members (Fidalgos is a traditional title of Portugal’s  nobility).and then 150 ships with not sure numbers of soldiers but then 150 ships means something big. Then on 20th January 1533 was the day of war between Bahadur_Shah_of_Gujarat & Portugal’s  Governor Da Cunha. Which was won by Portugal’s  Governor Da Cunha and Bahadur_Shah_of_Gujarat signed the Treaty of Bassein of 1534.Then Captain Garcia de Sá was appointed to build Fort Bassein and the work began on 20 January 1536.
Fort Bassein has witness 3 battles.
1) Portugal’s &Maratha War from 1737-1739
2) British Maratha War in 1780.
3) Portugal’s  Bahadur_Shah_of_Gujarat 20th January 1533
Today's vasai is 380 km² however Bessein was much bigger not than "Sopara" (सोपारा)(Sanskrit: शूर्पारक, Śūrpāraka) some identified with the Ophi
I will write about Sopara in my next blog
St. Gonsalo Garcia, The first Indian born to attain sainthood. Was born in Vasai, during his lifetime, the town was under Portugal’s  colonial rule.
St. Gonsalo Garcia is the patron saint of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Vasai
Fact of the day: Today Is Easter it is most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and held between 21 March and 25 April, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox or Pink Moon, the weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
And this phase of earth time stated as the day of the sun and the night of moon.

The Battle of Territory

Hum Traveller "Where life mean travel"

Welcome to Hum Traveller.
The Battle of Territory is the oldest battle in the human civilisation that had lead tribal infusion. All those Kings who acquired maximum land on earth are the greatest and likewise human animal too needs space for living and theses wonderful creature of nature had find the most safest place where they have been loved pampered petted .when human started using weapons made up of stone they used sharp edgy and pointed stones to make weapons  and in the animal kingdom its different animals have their own weapons claws, teeth,  when human made the first thing using stone could be anything like a hammer, cutter, all these happened only by understanding animals human always accompanied by one or the other animal who are human friendly to human and Cat’s are supposable the oldest and they had managed to survive all along with human race
The 2nd Lal-La (could not fetch pic of The Lal-La so his son pic)

When I saw Lal-la and Bade fighting for their territory the first thing it started with their marking and taking over marking by the opponent lead to fight to acquire and win over the opponent but the war between 2 was not settled as Bade always intruded over Lal-la's Territory and Lal-la was cool calm
Bade actually Elder to Lal-La and Kali was the youngest one  Bade was well built tall about a meter when he stand on his 2 legs they both weighted same although Kali was lighter than them Bade was more fit than Lal-la.
Kali was guest the Queen of the Territory her presences was never felt like disturbing to Bade and Lal-la either minded playing and spending time with her and she choose Lal-la over Bade I am not sure as why and what basis leaving it here
Appi(she looks like Bade)
Athos, Porthos, Aramis (from left to right)
Our 1Bhk Flat was one of the deadliest war zone if we are not home.
Once we all were out at to attain a family function and our house had witnessed this  first ever war that took place between Lal-la and Bade where victim of war was a wall clock, some kitchen utensil some grocery and some perishable all of them were dead Lal-la was at one corner and Bade was at other Kali trying to understand as to what has happened later as my mom decided to divide the territory as they would not see each other they will not fight that did worked well but the 2 war broke on the very next day over their food my mom used to give feed in one container for trio now this has change it to 2 container Kali was welcome in both the container

Will continue with few more stories with the Trio again until then

How Persian Cat Travelled To India

Hum Traveller "Where life mean travel"

Welcome to Hum Traveller.
So here is my Investigating report of How Persian Cat’s Travelled to India.
Who are Persian: They re the Ancient Tribe of Iran whose administration was in “persis” the province of Iran their settlement in Iran is dated back 10th Century BC. And Persis Civilisation started calling them Persian and even today this Iranian Cat are Known by their tribal name Persian cat
There are some other cat’s which resemblance of Persian cat’s so always checks for patterns on the coat because coat is a complex subject, and many different genes are involved.
First of all we need to understand the appearance of coat colour is adaptation ability of cat with the nature and but the patterns are given by the genes transmission
The most intelligent cat living in India is Tabby cats. They are one who is wild and stays in nearby surrounding
Coats Types.
  • Stripes: commonly seen cats around which has a beautiful stripe some time they stripes are so familiar to tiger stripes.
  • Dots: commonly seen cats around which has a beautiful dots some time these dots are so familiar to Cheetah or Leopard  stripes
  • Lines: Rare to seen these cats around which has a simples lines they are more like Lynx and stays in jungle area.
  • Swirling :Are most amazing cats I have ever seen they more look like “Bengal Tiger” Exotic Breed
  • All these Tabby have one thing in common you might see “M” on their fore head
Tabby is not originally from India they are cross of other origin who came to India along with their pet cat. Cats are superbly the oldest species among the animal chain of food cycle they are the closet friends of human no doubt that cat rules the internet after all cats artefact from Egypt are the oldest proof of love towards this nature best creature cat
Some Exotic Breed of Indian Cats but Siamese cat are origin of all Indian Cat’s Including Himalayan Cat’s
  • Rusty Cats: They come from southern part of India and then cross with the other origin made rusty tabby
  • Leopard Cats: They come from Eastern part of India and then cross with the other origin made spotted tabby
  • Bengal Tigers: Is the original breed of Swirling pattern tabby
  • Mackerel Tabby cat: Stripes on these tabby cats from coastal area gave them this amazing name as they were companion of fisherman on the coastal zone
  • Himalayan Cat: The Sub assumption of several cat fancier Org. Breed standard Himalayan and Exotic short-Hair are variant of Persian Cats
So these are few more information related to cat’s origin I will share more with some other related to travel post.
Sharing my personal Moments.
I had a few precious moments of my life with my pets when  Lal-La, Bade, and Kali Trio came with me when my chamti was no longer part of family however Kali never failed to remind of her mother she was as clever as her mother and much more intelligent trio used to play around where our apartment was at 7th Floor one bad morning when I woke up and had nothing to do so I switched on my TV Video game I saw this Bade is more interested in my game he came stood up supporting my shoulder with his eyes trying to catch the ball and then he slowly sat on my lap and I had my audience for the match to support me Bade was more social he used to welcome all who come home and Lal-la was more introvert to other he was choosy who can pet him my mom love him more because he was quite and cute but he wasn’t mute  I never understood as how their play turned into fight and that too furious fight I mean in that fight it left my me, mom & dad injured later we found that they are now grown up and wants their own territory so we divided our house in to 2 division Bade & Lal-la Zone Lal-la had already chosen his den it was our bed room with my mom and dad he chosen place which was high wardrobe and he used my mother dressing table as his watch tower because he could see if bade tries to enter to his territory Lal-l was more smarter than anyone but these trio had their own personality where Kali being naughty , Bade being Social and Lal-La the Introvert .
I will continue with further stories of my cat family check out my cat family galley

Cat My Travel Companion

Hum Traveller "Where life mean travel"

Welcome to Hum Traveller.
Many who had been investigating about since how long and since when cat became friend of human and managed to survive all along the ways till today?
Today there are number of cat and cat species are found across the world and if I talk about all cat species just one day would not be enough to read it.
The main reason behind is not the number but there are not enough resource to trace the origin of cat
Felidae is the biological family of cats. A member of this family is also called a felid.
Cats are often valued by humans for companionship and for their ability to hunt vermin.
There are more than 70 cat breeds, though different associations proclaim
I will try to cover as much as I know about domestic cats however for me
"All cat's are cat's some are smaller in size and some are big enough"
I have been petting cat's with my mom she always loved cat's the first ever cat I remember my mother petted her name was "Chamti" She was Golden Stripes Tabby my mother named her chamti because she was very intelligent and my mother's mother tongue had influenced her to name clever in her own language however she was very intelligent very protective mother .she was so aggressive towards dogs
I am not sure what other say about influence of eclipses on pregnant women but I have witness this I remember the eclipse on 26th Feb 1998 when chamti gave birth to her and all kitten were eyes less no doctor could give the reason of such event. After that Chamti Gave 3 More Kitten and They were named Lal-La, Bade, and Kali. I will write about these 3 Idiot In my next post I had fought with few relatives on the etymology of cat are not loyal now quote them with "cat are royal not loyal"
Although my this article is about How Persian cat’s Came to India
When Persian travelled to Europe they did not travelled to Europe alone they also travelled toward India too for reference check India-Persian relation and culture.
Persian cat's are so beautiful and their silky long hair fur makes them 2nd most popular breed in the world 1st being exotic.
European imported Persian cats as from Iran in 1620.when cat fancy were at its peak.
Likewise when Persian visited India they gifted cats to the Indian traders and since then Persian cat are with us here in India
The first ever cross breed of Persian cat are suppose-ably Himalayan Cat: The Sub assumption of several cat fancier Org. Breed standards Himalayan and Exotic short-Hair are variant of Persian Cats however
The first cat show was organised in 1871 @The Crystal Palace in London England by Harrison Weir.
2 Books to read for every cat lover The Book of the Cat By Francis Simpson,& Everybody's Cat Book By Dorothy Bevill.
I will Continue with the further story of my cat family until then
